A little more information...

Just a quick update on the types of topics I will be reporting about over the next few months. 

I will aim to limit the scope of my writing to international soccer, however I will speak of important events as they relate to the World scene, as they arise. One example of this may be the US soccer federation presidential election, as well as any key injuries, suspensions, and general performances of certain players and teams in domestic club games. 

Statistically, readers do not enjoy article of great length, therefore I will try to keep each piece concise and to the point, whilst still presenting facts and my analysis in detail. Moreover, I will be aiming for a minimum of 4 posts a week, with an attempt to post everyday; life may get in the way sometimes.

Upon the announcement of the final rosters for the tournament, I will break down each team and state my opinion as to how they will fare in Russia. Not so much a prediction, more of an analysis of how they will need to perform for success. 

This is all a stepping stone for me, so please bear with as I learn how to utilize this blog to provide the best experience for readers, as well as the best ways to present my true opinions on matter dear to my heart.

What We Can Learn From THAT Wayne Rooney Assist

Former Everton and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has always been a fighter. England’s all time top goal scorer, Rooney has a habit of putting all off-the-pitch drama to one side, and giving 110% in every match he plays, which earned him the accolade for the national team, as well as surpassing legend Bobby Charlton’s goal scoring tally at Old Trafford with 253 goals. This led Rooney to become one of the most formidable forwards the Premier League has ever seen. Now, Rooney plays for another United, this time in Washington D.C. Having scored on his debut, and created a few more assists in his short MLS career so far, Rooney and his teammates took on Orlando City SC last week in what would prove to be a memorable game. Belgium’s Midfield: Is It Good Enough?

Coach Roberto Martinez announced a preliminary squad for the World Cup next month. As any soccer fan knows, Belgium have a plethora of talent all over the field, further posing the question as to why the national team hasn’t enjoyed more success at the top levels. In recent years, Belgium have most definitely had the blues. 2017-18 was a fruitful period for many Belgian players. Forward Dries Mertens had a career year at Napoli, and Premier League household names  Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku both enjoyed consistent, albeit slow, years in England. Hazard’s brother Thorgan had a good 2017-18 in Germany, finally getting to play quality first team soccer all season long.  Moving backwards on the field, Tottenham defenders Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen both had very solid seasons at the back of a Spurs team that allowed very few goals all year.
